The RI AREC Foundation is a non-profit organized for the promotion of interest in Amateur Radio communication and experimentation; the establishment of Amateur Radio networks to provide electronic communications in the event of disasters or other emergencies; the fostering of education in the field of electronic communication and public service, the furtherance of the public welfare; the support of incident response agencies and charitable organizations requiring auxiliary, situational awareness, public service, health and welfare and emergency communications and technical services; exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
